The Sanguinaires Islands
Practical Information
The Sanguinaires Islands
Head to the Sanguinaires Islands for an unforgettable sunset
Mysterious and captivating, the Sanguinaires Islands, now a Natura 2000 site, offer you a wonderful spectacle. Surrounded by four dark rocky islands, this haven of peace is home to several bird colonies visible during sea trips and unique flora.
Between a blazing sunset, swimming, wine, charcuterie and Corsican cheese tasting, let yourself be carried away for a few hours in the Archipelago of the 4 rocky islands for an authentic and surprising visit.
The visit will start from Ajaccio and Porticcio in the late afternoon, then head out to sea towards the islands, a thirty-minute journey. The boat will dock on the first island, commonly called 'the Great Sanguinaire': Mezzu Mare, for a two-hour stopover. This time will allow you to discover the Alphonse Daudet Lighthouse dating from 1870 and stretch your legs among the ruins of the Lazaret, which overlook the Mediterranean Sea at more than 80 meters high: breathtaking view guaranteed. To add a gourmet touch to your excursion, a tasting of Corsican wine and charcuterie will be offered by the captain, on site, to discover the flagship products of the Isle of Beauty, all while enjoying a 360-degree view above the sea. A real break suspended in time to enjoy all that this beautiful island has to offer.
To continue this pleasant moment, the boat will set sail again as the sun begins to set, offering you the unique spectacle of a crimson sky, surrounded by the 4 islands of the Archipelago.
Pour poursuivre cet instant agréable, le bateau reprendra la mer lorsque le soleil commencera sa descente, vous offrant l'unique spectacle d'un ciel qui s'empourpre, entouré des 4 iles de l'Archipel.
